If you’ve been dreaming of manifesting more self-love into your life, an herbal bath ritual is the perfect place to start. For thousands of years cultures from around the world have been using bathing rituals for their therapeutic benefits.

Today, many wellness lovers view baths as the ultimate form of relaxation. We slip into the warm water, dim the lights, and let the day melt away as we sip a glass of wine or a cup of tea.

Obviously, baths can help with easing muscle tension and relieving stress - but taking your practice a step further and creating a sacred ritual around bathing can actually help to activate spiritual transformation.

Here at LaB.OTANICA we’re passionate about creating beauty and skincare products that are energetically aligned to help you worship your body and nourish your spirit. Through our all-natural botanical ingredients like roses, calendula flowers, clary sage, and lavender you can take your bath from mundane to magical.

A Bath Ritual Involves Creating a Sacred Experience

It’s more than just cleansing your body with soap You’ll be creating a full cleansing experience that can help you clear negative energy, embrace self-love, heal your heart, manifest confidence, or honor the phases of the moon and the changing of the seasons.

Your ritual bath should feel personal to you and aligned with your spiritual practice. For some, ritual baths are as simple as soaking for twenty minutes in herbal bath water and visualizing the negativity washing away with the water. Others might create an elaborate ritual complete with chanting and meditation.

Your ritual bath can be as simple or as elaborate as you’d like! With ceremonial bath and body products from LaB.OTANICA, you can create your very own herbal bath ritual using magical and medicinal botanical ingredients that will boost your body, mind, and spirit.

If you’re interested in introducing a bathing ritual as part of your spiritual self-care practice - we’ve created the perfect products full of beautifying herbal ingredients so that bath time becomes an enchanting ritual you’ll want to repeat again and again.

A Brief History of Ritual Bathing

Water has long been recognized for its healing powers - for tens of thousands of years humans have been using the practice of soaking their bodies in hot water to release toxins and encourage healing.

The practice dates back to ancient times when Neolithic tribes would soak their bodies in hot springs. The oldest bath ritual site ever discovered dates back to 2500 BC.

Discovered in Pakistan, The Great Bath sits on a sacred mound that acted as a temple, and bathing played an important role in spirituality and ceremony. From Cleopatra's luxurious baths of milk and honey to the communal baths of Ancient Rome - you'll be participating in a ritual that transcends time.

When to Perform an Herbal Bath Ritual

Ritual baths can be performed anytime you need a boost of confidence or an extra dose of self-love. Your spirit might feel called to the ritual after a particularly hard day, an argument with a loved one, to heal from heartache or trauma, or simply to create a clean slate before an exciting life change.

You can add an extra magical boost to your ritual by aligning it with the phases of the moon. New Moons are ideal for setting intentions, calling in good energy, and manifesting.

If you’re looking to let go of something which no longer serves you, or energetically cleanse your body temple then consider performing your ritual on the Full Moon. Once you begin the practice of taking ritual baths, your intuition will let you know when you need one, and if you have a particularly high-stress lifestyle you might even choose to perform a bathing ritual on a weekly or daily basis.

 Create Your Magical Bathing Ritual

Creating your personal bath ritual is highly customizable, but for the ultimate experience for wellness, magic, and transformation we suggest incorporating the following products into your herbal bath soak.

Ingredients:

Step 1: First you’ll want to begin to ready yourself for your bath ritual by removing any make-up. Slip into something sensual and comfortable as you prepare your bath with intention. Spend some time tidying up your space in your bathroom so that it feels peaceful and beautiful.

Step 2: Next, place your rose quartz or clear quartz crystal in the bottom of the tub, or place them nearby as you begin to fill up the water. Rose Quartz assists with releasing emotional blockages, healing the heart, and cultivating self-love. Clear Quartz is an energetic powerhouse, that strengthens the power of any intention or manifestation you may have, helps to draw out negative energy, and creates balance. Make sure the water is the perfect temperature for your body, and allow the water to run over the crystal, infusing each drop in your tub with healing energy.

Step 3. Once your tub begins to fill up, it is time to add the star ingredient of your herbal bath ritual: Lunar Potion Restorative Botanical Bath Tea! This luxurious botanical bath tea has been specially formulated to help you relax, cleanse, and restore your body mind, and spirit.

Our Lunar Potion is formulated with Black Salt and Epsom Salt to ground and protect while physically helping to rejuvenate tired muscles and relieve aches and pains. Roses petals and Calendula flowers hydrate the skin while calling in the energies of love, abundance, and positivity.

You can simply drop the bath tea into the tub, or for a full sensory experience, open the bag and pour in the ingredients allowing the flowers to float magically in the water. If you’re choosing to add fresh rose petals to your bath, you can add those at this time as well.

Step 4: Once your tub is filled and you’ve added your plant magic ingredients to the water, it is time to set your intention for the ritual. Take a deep cleansing breath in, and a long exhale for release. Bring your Trust the Journey Intention Candle close to your heart, and set your intention before lighting the candle.

Step 5: It’s now time to step into the bath and settle in for a rejuvenating soak. We recommend soaking for a minimum of 30 minutes so that your body can absorb all of the feel-good botanicals and your mind and soul fully embody the experience.

There is no time limit. Stay in the water as long as you need to. During this time you can journal, meditate, chant, or simply close your eyes and relax. You might choose to enjoy a warm cup of herbal tea. There is no wrong answer! Trust that the plant magic is empowering your intention.

Step 6: When you’re finished in the bath, it is ideal to let your body air dry. Take a moment to thank the water and the plants, and then imagine your worries, fears, and any lingering negativity releasing down the drain with the water. Once your body is mostly dry, allow your candle to remain lit as you slowly massage your skin with our Ceremonial Luxury Body Oil.

Afterward, you can slip into a robe. If any new thoughts or intentions arose during your bath this is an excellent time to journal or pull a Tarot card before continuing with your nightly skincare routine. When you feel ready, you can blow out your candle and prepare for a restful evening.
